Your fingers dance on my skin,
As we whisper our long goodbyes on this solemn drive.
And love is gone before it could arrive.
I burn your face deep into my eyes because
A week is not long enough
And life won't wait,
And I'm not strong enough
To ask you to stay.
Your voice echoes in my head
Our paths may cross if we give it time,
For now they must divide and misalign
But love is gone before it could shine.
I drink your words when we finish all the wine because
A week is not long enough,
And life won't wait,
And I'm not strong enough
To ask you to stay,
Your voice echoes in my head

My Time Is Yours

Tell me what you want,
Tell me what you need.
I'm the one to make your dreams come true.
So buckle up girl,
This ride will just drag us along.
Take my hand and we can scratch out our names in the stars
You're like a dream, you light the fire in me
Just for you I commit my soul
My time is yours until we're old and grey
Trust in me and I won't let you down

Moonrise

There's a place we can go
That no one will know
leave behind our long shadows
Follow footsteps of the crows
If you bring the music, the records and the books
I'll bring the tent, all the pegs and hooks
No one will find us, they won't know where to look
We'll get away from the liars and all of those crooks
We won't take much, but an old trail map
and my trusty coonskin cap
Leave your home, and leave your friends
Be my queen til summers end
We can play make believe that this is where we should be
Plant our roots and relax as we stare out into the sea
No one will find us, they won't know where to look
We'll get away from the liars and all of those crooks

Living For Today
03:14
|
|||
My days are blurred by pin striped shirts, my feet are bound in leather
The lights are bright, they hurt my eyes all we talk about's the weather
The carpets bland, the wall is bare, the clock is my best friend
I'm scared of saying anything in case the words offend
This little world of invoice forms sucks and pulls you in
People start to forget under suits they're just skin
The only pie they ever have is always facts and figures
The only pie I choose to have has to be delicious
So I've given up working for the weekend
and I'm working on living for today
I've started to remember i don't need to defend
my choice to live my life my way
Everyone has meetings to discuss their next meeting
The canteen lunch ain't my ideal idea of eating
I don't agree with any boss but I have to nod my head
The only thing that gets me through is visions of my bed
So I've given up working for the man
And I'm working on living for myself
And even though i know that they just won't understand
I'm happy to be craving nothing else
The fax machine is broken, the paper clips are bent
My workflow efficiency is at zero per cent
Everybody knows that I'm biding my time
I just want to leave while I'm still in my prime
So I've given up working for the weekend
and I'm working on living for today
I've started to remember i don't need to defend
my choice to live my life my way
So I've given up working for the man
And I'm working on living for myself
And even though i know that they just won't understand
I'm happy to be craving nothing else
